Home-baked goods inspired by true love.
Imagine coming across our parents’ World War II love letters to each other bundled up and stored for eternity. Thousands of miles separated them, but every day they wrote to one another. Sweet nothings. Red lipstick kisses.
Promises of home cooking and fresh baked goods kept our soldier Dad dreaming of the moment he would be back on our shores. Our Mom, dressed in her homemade cotton print apron, would practice making family favorite recipes for him to enjoy. The intoxicating smells of bread and sweet rolls warmed the halls of their Chicago apartment.
This love of baking was passed down to their daughters — Sherry, Lisa, and Diane — who have special memories of Mom’s delicious cakes, brownies, and pies.
And that’s how Love Letters Bakery was born, with Sherry offering an array of sweet treats worth writing home for—paying homage to the love letters shared between our parents more than 75 years ago. When you enjoy the fresh baked goods, I hope you think of them and the love they shared through it all.
From my home to yours, with love.
